How To Review OKRs

You've diligently been tracking your OKRs throughout the quarter - now it's time to review.

Scoring OKRs

Key results are scored with a number ranging from 0 to 1.0 (or equivalently, 0 to 100%). Optionally you can give each objective an overall score based on the associated key result scores. Since you've already set measurable key results, you only need your check-ins to assess how well you've done. In fact, one of the benefits of the weekly check-in is that the review at the end of the quarter is dead simple! You don't really have to do much calculation at all. Instead you can focus on what really matters.

Three Questions For Your Review

We recommend asking yourself three questions when reviewing your OKRs at the end of the quarter:

  1. What went well this quarter?
  2. What could have been done differently?
  3. What will I/we focus on for next quarter?

On the one hand it's important to spend some time reviewing your OKRs, answering questions 1 and 2. On the other hand, looking forward is the most important thing. Take what you learned this quarter and aim for continuous improvement.

Once you've made it this far - congrats! You've completed one full cycle of OKRs. Now the next thing to do is to set your OKRs for the next quarter.
